Job Description:Position SummaryThe Technology team is a rapidly growing and critically important strategic initiative for Guggenheim Securities ( GS ). The Menlo Park-based team is a key part of Guggenheim's TMT practice and leads the coverage and execution of transactions for technology companies. Guggenheim is seeking an Experienced Associate (1+ year of investment banking experience at the Associate level) to work as a key part of lean deal teams on M&A and other strategic assignments, providing immediate and meaningful exposure to senior bankers and senior client executives. Our Associates are expected to play an integral role in evolving and enhancing our client relationships and are active participants throughout the life of a transaction and beyond. Candidates should be top performers who are willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued.Essential Job FunctionsLead day-to-day project management and execution on a broad range of advisory and financing transactions, including developing and overseeing detailed financial and accounting analysesAnalyze and manage the analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and publicly traded company financials in order to identify potential client solutions and new market opportunitiesConduct and review product/service, economic, company and industry research and analysisAnalyze and supervise the analysis of current and past accounting and financial records in order to advise clients through financial projections preparation; prepare, review and participate in client presentationsIntegrate strategic ideas derived from various analyses, forecasts, business plans, and research into presentations for various stakeholdersConduct due diligence investigations of companies to ascertain the soundness of their current and forecasted financial situationUnderwrite transaction evaluation, preparation, due diligence and execution of transactions; and lead the preparation of marketing materials including teasers, information memoranda, and other transaction-related documentationHelp prepare and contribute to deal pitches including idea generation and identify, research, and analyze M&A and financing opportunitiesAct as the financial and strategic advisor for clients of core accounts in conjunction with senior coverage officersBuild and develop relationships with clients through ongoing engagement and demonstration of financial and industry knowledgeManage and develop junior staffPreferred QualificationsIB Analyst to Associate promotes or MBA hires with 1-2 years of relevant experienceExperience in the technology industry is preferred, but not requiredSignificant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives and senior managementHighly organized, with the initiative and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlinesComfortable reading and interpreting financial statementsExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailStrong written and oral communication skillsInterest in developing a career in Technology Investment BankingBasic QualificationsRequires a minimum of a Bachelor s degreeIB Analyst promotes to Associate or MBA hires with 1-2 years of relevant experienceCore modeling and valuation experience in professional settingSIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employmentWork LocationCurrently, this role is expected to be in the Menlo Park office at least 4 days per weekSalaryAnnual base salary between $175,000 and $225,000The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience.
