Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Credentials Manager, Medical Staff - Mineola.

In this role, the successful candidate The MSS Manager directly oversees and manages reappointment team operations in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

    1. Oversees the recredentialing process to assist Medical Staff and Administrative leadership in assuring that all individuals with clinical privileges provide services within the scope of their training, licensure, and ability to perform the clinical privileges granted.
    2. Performs other duties as directed and leadership activities.
    3. Assists in setting up office systems for recredentialing related matters.
    4. Participates in other Medical Staff functions and projects as necessary.
    5. Employ public relations skills in a wide variety of phone contacts with external sources for purposes of soliciting information essential to credentials investigation.
    6. Assists MSS Department Director and Senior Director in ensuring that the department function is compliant with national and local regulation and accreditation standards. This process includes monitoring compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, NYSDOH regulations, TJC, CMS, and NCQA Standards through the use of check lists and performing internal audits of credentials files organization and content in order to ensure that provider files are in compliance with the required credentialing verification elements established by TJC, NCQA, DOH and CMS standards and are maintained in accordance with established principles of legal documentation and confidentiality.
    7. Generates data reports from the credentialing database to effectively manage and monitor the credentialing process and respond to data requests from internal and external sources.
    8. In conjunction with the Director identifies steps individual employees can take to promote growth, development and workplace wellbeing as part of competency assessment, performance planning and appraisal process
    9. Oversees the Cactus sProvider database including maintenance of forms, letters, tables, delineation of privileges, taxonomy, interfaces and staff training related to reappointments.
    10. Oversees and manages the activities and performance of the reappointment team in order to provide for accuracy of data entry, timely processing of applications, detailed implementation and follow up concerning each reappointment to ensure the accuracy of data disseminated to all departments of the medical center in regard to Medical & Dental Staff/Allied Health Professional Staff reappointments.
    11. Ensure the delivery of a high-quality credentialing service for the CACTUS sProvider database with responsibility and accountability for operations of the reappointment application process of the centralized medical staff program.
    12. Monitors departmental performance and productivity to assure appropriate utilization of resources.
    13. Manages Credentials Committee functions related to reappointments.
    14. Seeks the most effective method of delivering services and maintains an awareness of the cost impact of decisions and actions
    15. Manages daily activities of the recredentialing process.
    16. Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures related to reappointments.
    17. Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
    18. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, time and attendance and problem resolution;

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree, NAMSS certification, plus a minimum of five years of progressive responsible experience in an administrative role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills, including word processing and data base maintenance. Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects independently within established timeframes. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to cope with interruptions, varying personalities, rush projects, and demanding medical staff. Must be well organized and able to prioritize responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Management certificate or Masters Degree. Able to demonstrate good independent judgment and strong interpersonal relationship skills in working with direct employees, medical staff leaders and other Departments in the NYU Health system.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325 - $100,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
