Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) is looking for an energetic individual as our Environmental Specialist II as part of the Power Supply Team located in Fairbanks, Alaska. This full-time position earns a competitive starting wage of $86,444 annually. A day in the life of an Environmental Specialist II can look like:
Use attention to detail skills to interpret and communicate permit conditions and compliance requirements to affected stakeholders within GVEA. Provide expertise and guidance to advise and assist facilities in maintaining environmental compliance. Use communication skills to interface with regulatory agencies and GVEA staff to ensure compliance with existing and future environmental regulations, including air quality, water quality, and waste management. Ensure that GVEA meets and exceeds regulatory compliance, reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Science field required.
- Valid Alaska driver's license is required.
- Six years' environmental or relevant experience.
