**Position Summary**

As a DevOps Engineer at Chronotrack, a division at Life Time, you will be in an environment that fosters cross functional collaboration as well as working hand in hand with all roles of the software development process. You will need to bring an understanding of development methodologies and the role that system engineering plays in developing hosted enterprise web applications. We are looking for strong, energetic, and proactive candidates that will challenge the team to strive for increased scalability, better performance, smarter load testing, more complete monitoring, actionable alerting, and understand best practices for continuous integration and delivery. You will be expected to not only be the voice of reason but also devise and present solutions that the team can implement. You will be encouraged to explore new technologies, how they will benefit the company and product, and bring ideas on how to implement them.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**

* Review and make necessary recommendations for infrastructure initiatives in collaboration with your fellow DevOps Engineers

* Automate repetitive tasks, contribute to, and improve, a Docker containerized continuous delivery pipeline

* Serve in an on-call rotation and escalation point of contact

* Support our existing production and non-production systems while continuously working to improve them

* Work with your delivery team to ensure best practices and standards are followed

* Identify key system metrics and ensure adequate monitoring coverage for new and existing services

* Will be asked to explore and test new open source technologies as they become available

* Author tools that reliably manage infrastructure in a containerized, immutable, testable fashion

**Position Requirements**

* Bachelors Degree in a related field

* 2+ years of experience

* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration in a production environment

* A minimum of 2 years experience in Linux system administration (Debian based preferred)

* A minimum of 2 years experience with a cloud provider in an enterprise environment (AWS preferred)

* Version control (Git, SVN, Mercurial, etc)

* Implementing and managing highly available systems

* Systems analytics (ELK stack, New Relic, Splunk, etc)

* Linux scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, etc)

* Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc)

* Using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, TravisCI, etc)

* Performance monitoring and load testing

* Been in an on-call rotation

* Systems analytics (ELK stack, New Relic, Splunk, etc)

* Linux scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, etc)

* Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc)

* Using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, TravisCI, etc)

**? Preferred Requirements**

* Experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, Functions)

* Understanding of stream processing (Kafka, Samza, Zookeeper, RabbitMQ)

* Experience with at least two of the following languages: Java, Scala, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go

* Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)

* Experience with at least one JavaScript framework/runtime (Angular, Ember, React, Node, Backbone, Knockout)
