Hotel/Resort Facilities Maintenance Engineer - AM Shift


Job Details

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer at Horseshoe Bay Resort is responsible for repairing and maintaining various equipment and systems in guest rooms and public areas, as well as monitoring fire alarm/life safety systems and energy conservation efforts. This position also involves emergency response, accident prevention, record keeping, and general cleaning duties. The engineer must have good communication skills, be able to work independently, and maintain a safe work environment for guests and associates.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment in guest rooms and public areas
  • Monitor, handle emergencies, and have a working knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Observe energy and utilities usage, look for ways to conserve energy, and report ideas to Engineering Management
  • Clean, lubricate, protect, and maintain tools and equipment in the resort
  • Be available for emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests, associates, and the building
  • Work in an accident-free manner and create a safe work environment for others
  • Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units
  • Clean engineering areas as directed, work efficiently to maintain the operation of the resort, and provide training to other engineers
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure availability of needed materials, tools, and supplies
  • Follow Resort rules and policies, maintain professional composure in high-stress situations, and be flexible with shifts and hours
  • Making sure that facilities remain clean, orderly, and safe for employees and guests
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure that maintenance tasks do not disrupt their operations
  • Assisting with the setup and takedown of equipment and furniture as needed
  • Maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks
  • Performing regular inspections of facilities to identify and address any issues before they become major problems
  • Preparing rooms and spaces for meetings, events, and other functions
  • Troubleshooting issues with HVAC systems and ensuring that they are running at optimal levels
  • Assisting with plumbing tasks including repairing leaks and unclogging drains
  • Checking electrical systems and performing basic repairs as needed
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating machinery and equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Less than 1 year
  • Stand long periods
  • Lift 50 lbs
