Market Showroom Interior Designer-Onsite in Arcadia, WI


The Market Showroom Interior Designer is responsible for the look of the Ashley Furniture Showroom per division: space planning, furniture layout, and construction for the Ashley Furniture Market Showrooms. This position is responsible for determining the product to be ordered, transfers, tracking, and physical setup of the showroom. Each division will periodically undergo construction requiring drawings, bids, and working with contractors. The designer will be responsible for all wall finishes ranging from faux finishes, paint, and wallpaper, as well as flooring changes. Each designer works with the divisional Vice Presidents to develop floor plans for the upcoming markets and with the Director of Market Showrooms to achieve the final presentation.


What Will You Do?


  • Travel to furniture markets owning the design and buildout process of motion showrooms
  • Work with VP and President to create and develop floor plans for product display at trade shows using space planning software.
  • Maintain showroom inventories before and after all markets; conduct a physical inventory before and after each show
  • Order and track all Ashley product per division for the market showroom display to ensure the correct product will be delivered on time and displayed for the show.
  • Collaborate with the divisional Vice Presidents, Research & Development, graphics and product designers to make their interpretation of how the product should be displayed, a reality. Plan furniture layouts for upcoming markets to achieve a working floor plan and presentation.
  • Coordinate movement of product for photography. Collaborate with Vice Presidents and photography per division to create merchandise list and ensure the correct pieces are available for photography.
  • Work with each market s showroom lead, Vice President, temporary workers, and contractors to set the showroom and ensure everything is ready for opening day.
  • Responsible for the look of each individual showroom including choosing paint and wallpaper selections.


What Do You Need?


  • Bachelor s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years in an Interior Design related field (required), preferably retail.
  • 1.5+ years minimum of relevant work experience in paid social advertising.
  • Experience in Showroom Design, Space Planning, Floor Planning, or Interior Design
  • Experienced in computer assisted design/drafting equipment/ AutoCAD or Revit
  • Prior experience with space planning and retail design is a plus
  • Ability to give direction to temporary work crew
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet


Travel Requirements


  • This position requires 40% travel to US Markets


Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for displays, samples, and other marketing materials. Requires lifting and handling of event set-ups and take-downs. Requires telephone and computer use.
