Role Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead the business development efforts of the consulting business. The Director will be responsible to proactively originate new business, share ideas, and bring innovation to the clients while collaborating to find or build the right solutions tailored to the business needs. The position will be anchored around driving strategy and new revenue vis- -vis revenue backed by USG (e.g. USAID, USTDA, MCC, etc.) and multilateral organizations (e.g. World Bank Group, IDB, etc).


Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver engagement revenue results and pipeline targets while acting as a strategic advisor internally and externally.
  • Actively engage with your client(s). Additional time will be spent on strategy and management initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional client service by understanding your client's issues and challenges, leveraging the firm's capabilities to originate and drive new business opportunities to grow revenue and deepen the customer relationship management.
  • Drive global account strategy, rigorous account planning and relationship development across government and public sector.
  • Thrive in a matrixed organization, balance the needs of the clients against business initiatives and goals.
  • Ability to develop and build networks while connecting with colleagues across the leadership team and associates to drive a coordinated market effort.
  • Inspire others with your coaching skills and actions in the market.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the clients and the business development team, acting in a consultative manner.
  • Being the catalyst that pulls stakeholders together to drive strategic initiatives and enable revenue growth.


Qualifications


  • 10-12+ years of business development experience in the professional services and solutions.
  • Strong relationships within USAID, World Bank Group, and USTDA and other parts of US government and multilateral agencies (e.g. Inter-American Development Bank).


  • A proven record of providing service solutions to the "C" level Executives in the government and private institutions.
  • Outstanding client management and relationship skills, strong executive presence and influencing skills.
  • Solid understanding of the marketplace/industry.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging tools, methodologies and go-to-market models including social media.
  • Strong ability to handle and resolve conflict.
  • Bachelor s Degree required, an advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills.
