Arnall Golden Gregory LLP ("AGG"), an Am Law 200 law firm with offices in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., is seeking a Litigation Paralegal in the D.C. office who will provide high-level paralegal support to attorneys in the firm s Litigation Department, with specialties including Healthcare Litigation, Business Litigation, Complex Insurance Services, Employment Law, and Intellectual Property & Technology litigation. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten (10) years experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or similar setting.

Position Reports to: Legal Support Manager, Litigation Practice Group Chairs, and Paralegal Committee Chairs

Overall Responsibilities:

Primary duties will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Collect, organize, and produce documents in response to various types of discovery requests
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain factual information in centralized repositories
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery, and discovery responses under the supervision of the assigning attorney
  • File and e-file pleadings in federal, state, and appellate courts
  • Docket court filing deadlines and scheduling orders
  • Conduct and summarize research as requested by attorney
  • Draft and coordinate service of subpoenas in state and federal courts
  • Attend both in-state and out-of-state trials lasting one or more weeks
  • Prepare for and attend hearings and trials, including preparation of trial exhibits and coordination of trial set-up and logistics, including courtroom technology
  • Responsible for managing case litigation calendars and maintaining litigation files, including electronic files and databases
  • Provide case management support, including monitoring and follow-up on case calendars, filing deadlines, and paper and electronic docket research
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Prepare for and schedule depositions
  • Routine client contact
  • Overtime may be required to service litigation needs
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned


Required skills:
  • Must have thorough knowledge of federal and state statutes, court rules, forms, processes, and procedures relating to evidence and trial practice
  • Must possess research skills, including knowledge of electronic search technology and litigation databases
  • Experience with programs such as Relativity, CaseMap, TextMap, Trial Director, Summation, and Concordance/ iPro is considered a plus
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and self-initiation
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a mid-size or large law firm
  • A Bachelor s Degree or ABA approved paralegal certificate highly desired
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe software programs
  • In-court trial or hearing experience is required, with knowledge of courtroom technology


Mental/Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Indoor offices with controlled temperatures with limited exposure to noise, dust, chemicals
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor
  • May sit for long periods of time
  • Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting occasionally
  • Operating a personal computer, telephone, voicemail, and other office equipment on a regular basis
  • Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Must have the ability to convey detailed information in a clear and concise manner through spoken word
  • Must demonstrate good problem-solving skills
