**Job Description**

**The Role:**

The Procurement Specialist will lead procurement activities for critical inventoried materials used in

Suterras chemical manufacturing processes. The person in this role will represent Suterra to Suterras vendors coordinating supply and troubleshoot problems to ensure consistent supply, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement in quality and cost.

Cross-functional work will be key to this role and the person will interface closely with internal departments, including Manufacturing, Finance, Sourcing, Engineering and Receiving teams. This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on developing and strengthening our procurement processes and activities.

**Here's what you'll do:**

**Purchasing**

Creation and management of RFQ/RFPs for critical inventoried materials.

Troubleshoot supply, logistics/customs issues and propose resolutions to supply delays/gaps.

Participate in weekly material planning meetings providing availability and lead time insights for materials.

Lead supply chain management for imported materials working with external logistics and customs broker partners.

**Vendor Management**

Negotiate pricing and service levels to maximize value and create cost structure transparency.

Manage vendor relationships, tracking and reporting vendor performance to identify risks, opportunities and create action plans to maximize value for Suterra.

Drive resolution of quality issues related to vendor supplied materials, collaborating with internal quality and engineering teams.

Conduct vendor site visits with colleagues from quality/engineering.

**Sourcing and Supply Chain Development**

Identify supply options for existing materials that will bring cost, quality, and lead time benefits to Suterra.

Ownership of new supplier onboarding to ensure successful and timely implementation of supply.

Collaborating with Demand Planning, Production and Customer Service to coordinate material purchases and to pursue emerging market opportunities and product launches.

**Beyond the procurement responsibilities, this person can expect to be:**

**A collaborator:** Partner with departments across the company to provide procurement expertise to support effective purchase and inventory decision making.

**A problem solver:** Connect the dots to create clarity, explore options and drive supply chain problems to resolution, limiting impact on production and risks for the business.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

2+ years experience in a high-performance business in purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering or related function.

**Preferred Experience:**

A Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical field.

Demonstrated ability to solve problems, while mitigating risks to resources and deadlines.

Enthusiasm for teamwork at multiple levels and across multiple functions of the organization.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Rigorous attention to detail.

Previous experience with ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics D365.

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
