Summary About the Position: This position serves as the Military Personnel Technician in support of personnel actions and services team consisting of a specific group or specialty branch. It is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Responsibilities Have a seasoned understanding of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and precedents related to the Army Reserve personnel system. Serve as the Military Personnel Technician in support of a personnel actions and services team consisting of a specific group or specialty branch. Use a number of computer software packages in performance of assigned duties. Demonstrate courtesy, tact and good judgment to provide effective customer service and assistance to the managed population. Assist Soldiers through oral and written communication in the successful resolution of problems or cases. Experience Required: To qualify based on your resume, the resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes and prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defines as: refer to human resources rules, procedures, or standard operating procedures when completing assigned tasks; provide technical advice to customers for resolution of controversial military human resources issues, utilize an automated database to track or capture information and research data into a database such as military personnel database system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-05) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Clerical Computer Literacy Customer Service Military Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
