**Position:** System Support Specialist (Job ID: 2260) **Location:** Wallops Island, VA
**Job Id:** 2260 **# of Openings:** 1 **System Support Specialist** *Position is Contingent upon Contract Award* **Purpose:**
* To support Navy Land Based Test Sites.
* Provides network support on difficult assignments and problems. Performs configuration, maintenance, and usage of computer equipment.
**Job Description:**
* Provide comprehensive readiness, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting Network/Security Systems in support of Navy Combat Systems programs, Navy Land based Test Site/Facility and associated T&E events.
* Provides technical and user support for PC components, and mainframe networking.
* Reads, writes, and/or verbally communicates at a level to solicit or explain information that is may be highly complex or technical, and/or compose correspondence and/or reports.
**Qualifications:**
* Must have at least 4 years of experience in audio visual switching systems to include troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and Operating systems.
**Desired Qualifications:**
* Current experience supporting Navy Land Based Test Sites
* Have or obtain within one year of onboarding Operating System certificate or certification and Security+ certification.
**Security Requirements:**
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
**Travel Requirements:**
* Minimal travel required.
* If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: )
**Physical Requirements:**
* Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
* Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
* Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
* Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia)
