SENIOR MANAGER - FINANCEWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?This position is responsible for managing the CNB forecasting, planning and 3 year outlook process along with putting together insightful analytics and recommendations including peer analysis. The individual will partner across the organization to get the most accurate inputs while ensuring that the economics of the financials represents the strategic goals of the company and business units. Additionally, the role is responsible for preparing presentations and reports to CNB and RBC's leadership team(s).What you will doPrepare and coordinate the annual budget for the enterprise, ensuring goals and strategic initiatives are in line with Bank objectives. Maintain driver based budget/forecast models and ensure assumptions are reasonable, accurate, and have integrity. Prepare budget/forecast presentations for CNB and RBC s leadership.Prepare monthly and weekly forecasts and communicate drivers to RBC and CNB s leadership team. Review quantitative and qualitative details to ensure they are accurate and rational by working with subject matter experts in their respective areas.Continuously look for efficiencies and synergies in the workflow by building partnerships with stakeholders across the organization. Create procedures and/or templates for more efficient business unit roll ups.Anticipates needs of leadership by conducting special financial projects and participating in various task forces and committees as required by senior management.Provide actuals to forecast/plan variance commentary to Accounting for explanations to CNB and RBC. Understand CNB from an IFRS viewpoint to ensure commentary aligns with Toronto s view.Oversee the upload of the budget in RBC s EPM system; complete numerous templates as requested from RBC.Supervise workflow and provide expertise and direction to support staff as needed.Comply fully with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.Complete ad-hoc requests/presentations.Be a facilitator of information within the Finance division and across other divisions.Complete all required training.Manages a staff of 3-4 Finance Managers and/or Senior Financial AnalystsParticipates in bank wide projects and initiatives as neededMust-Have*Bachelor's Degree or equivalentMinimum 10 years of experience working for a financial institution requiredMinimum 10 years of experience in a financial management role requiredSkills and KnowledgeKnowledge in every facet of financial managementAbility to communicate with executive leadershipA CFA, CPA, or MBA is highly desirable.Requires extensive knowledge of financial analysis techniques and generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, as well as strong experience in the use of financial/accounting related reporting systems (e.g. CONTROL, Hyperion, Cognos, etc.) and the preparation and presentation of managerial reporting.Excellent managerial, organizational, analytical, and project management skills required.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to build positive relationships both within the Finance Division and throughout the Bank; work cooperatively with members of the Executive Committee and the Strategy and Planning Committee.Must be capable of establishing professional expertise through integrity, dedication, and strategic counsel.Must be capable of inspiring confidence and respect in staff and motivate colleagues to achieve Finance Division and company goals.Excellent Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote) required.CompensationStarting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
