YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an AutoCAD Drafter/Designer, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Creating detailed plans and profiles of water/sewer mains and storm drains, adhering to project specifications.
  • Drafting design plans for pump stations, vaults, and similar utility structures, ensuring accuracy in plan and section views.
  • Reviewing and analyzing as-built utility information, incorporating findings into project drawings as needed.
  • Utilizing multiple cross-references to prepare comprehensive contract drawings that meet industry standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborating with engineers and project managers to refine designs and address any technical challenges.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical drawings
  • Experience drafting detailed plans for water/sewer infrastructure projects, including small and large diameter mains and storm drains
  • Familiarity with utilities and the ability to interpret and review as-built utility information
  • Experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and ArcGIS is desirable
  • Familiarity with design standards and requirements of organizations such as WSSC Water, City of Baltimore, and/or DC Water is a plus.
