Position Description


The position reports to the Director, Information Systems and Technology (Director) and works closely with the VP of Governance & Strategy. The position serves as a pivotal bridge, ensuring that business needs are translated into technical solutions to drive process improvement and innovation. This position works closely with various Centers and leverages project management skills to identify opportunities for and support the implementation of process improvements and software systems to meet the current and future needs of the organization.

Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the organization to evaluate and refine business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions in support of SNA s strategic goals.
  • Work with various Centers to identify unmet business needs by gathering and documenting requirements, understanding process flows, and identifying potential solutions.
  • Research innovative solutions to business challenges and support the integration of new technologies/capabilities into the SNA information system ecosystem.
  • Identify requirements and opportunities for the adoption of analytics tools and systems and work with various Centers to understand their data needs and implement solutions that enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and ensure that proposed technical solutions align with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee various projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget.
  • Work with the Director to implement change management strategies to facilitate the seamless adoption of new technologies and processes across the organization.
  • Develop training materials and programs to educate staff on new technologies and processes, providing ongoing support as needed.
  • Track and report on the performance of implemented solutions, providing insights and recommendations for further improvements.
  • Create comprehensive standard operating procedures for applications and ensure that all relevant documentation from other contributors is consistently and accurately integrated into a centralized repository for organizational access and use.
  • Stay current with process and IT advancements, including AI tools, to automate and modernize systems.

Position Relationships

  • Works with SNA staff.
  • Frequent work with outside vendors, contractors, and consultants on specific projects.

Supervision

  • Receives general supervision and direction from position s supervisor. Exercises some independent judgment and discretion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field or high school diploma with training and/or professional work experience.
  • At least 3 years of work experience with organization-wide change management initiatives or systems integrations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of information technology and its application in solving business problems and an ability to quickly learn and/or assess new systems. Technical experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex processes, identify improvement opportunities, and understand the implications of new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical specifications to development teams while conveying project details to non-technical individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team with the ability to draw connections between day-to-day job responsibilities and the goals of the organization.
  • Consultative mindset with an ability to analyze and communicate complex problems and concepts, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills with a strong analytical approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with different timelines in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads and changing priorities. Project management experience a plus.
  • Ability to set and consistently meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and accurate technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience using a database to access customer or member information, using the internet to conduct research, and proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom.
