Georgia State University is looking to hire a Food Service Worker II to provide support to the Athletic Training Table Department. This position maintains a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period. Demonstrates solid time awareness and time management. Delivers products to multiple locations on a continuous basis ensuring products time and temperature is controlled in accordance with specialized units' guidelines and procedures. Develops and adheres to operational procedures in assigned areas of responsibility.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Food Service Worker II will train and guide staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, customer service, etc. This position may require you to be cross-trained for another position and/or responsibilities in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Takes initiative and responsive to team's needs.
  • Adheres to set guidelines, policies, and time schedules.
  • Performs all aspects of this position in a timely and concise manner.
  • Sets up, maintains, and breaks down multiple workstations and specialized machines ensuring product is stocked to appropriate levels and all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Completes health and safety daily logbook.
  • Works multiple stations with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  • Has a vast knowledge of menu items and recipes to effectively service the customers' needs.
  • Assists with placing work orders, maintenance repairs, and ordering products.
  • Assists in the everyday operations and monitoring of FIFO (First In First Out) food rotation.
  • Inspects food storage areas to reduce food waste and makes sure areas are following health code guidelines and department standards.
  • Monitors and controls product on lines.
  • Cleans, operates, and maintains floor machine.
  • Inspects dining facility daily and reports any damaged structures, furniture, equipment, flooring, or any repair requests, as well as any safety concerns, to their supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous food service and maintenance experience.
  • Physical requirements: Extended Standing for long periods of time, ability to hustle in fast paced environment, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders if necessary.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
  • Open availability, being able to work 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
