JURISolutions Legal (JSL) is partnering with one of our corporate clients to hire a Compliance Paralegal for a 3-month project (potential to extend) located near the DC area. This is a hybrid role.
The best candidate is required to hold a Paralegal Certification and should have a B.S or B.A., a minimum of 5 years experience within compliance, corporate governance or trademark practice areas. Candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and processing legal franchise-related compliance requests;
- Drafting and sending compliance related communications, including demand letters, default and termination letters, settlement agreement and termination and release agreements;
- Managing and updating compliance related dockets as well as corporate applications;
- Assisting with post-litigation and pre-arbitration efforts to collect unpaid and past due balances on franchisee accounts;
- Assisting with monitoring watch notice databases, determining whether new trademark applications present potential infringements
Requirements:
- Paralegal Certificate required
- College B.A. or B.S.
- Excels in deadline-driven, competing priority atmosphere
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute in a collaborative
atmosphere
- Excellent writer
- Understands and can complete legal research.
- Good organizational skills
- Can express ideas clearly
- Can supervise self well
