VP Procurement - Commercial, Marketing, Products & Technology


Job Details

This position is responsible for leading a procurement team of 20+ professionals, managing over $1B in annual spending to support IHG's Global Commercial & Marketing and Products & Technology functions. The VP will play an active role in the Global Procurement leadership team, with functional and operational responsibilities. This role involves managing multiple areas of corporate expenditure and influencing critical enterprise initiatives with board-level visibility. Additionally, the VP will be a member of the relevant business leadership teams chaired by the Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer and the Chief Product & Technology Officer as their lead procurement business partner.

Deliver sustainable profit and competitive advantage to IHG and Owners through high-performance leadership, business partnering and value across the Commercial, Marketing, Products and Technology supply chain.


Key Accountabilities


  • Building Procurement Expertise:
  • Provide commercial support to EC & Senior Leaders to drive sustainable improvement across the Commercial & Marketing (C&M) and Products & Technology (P&T) functions.
  • Shape and embed robust sourcing and supplier management processes across the team. Drive continuous improvement and seek and apply industry best practice as appropriate.
  • Deliver a cohesive responsible procurement agenda through deploying a comprehensive framework and structure.
  • Manage business risk and meet IHG s corporate and social responsibility requirements.
  • Leverage scale across the enterprise and engage with senior leaders to drive material procurement opportunities throughout the organization.
  • Shape, develop and manage a supplier relationship program, bringing commercial insights and innovation to the business.
  • Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and understand their procurement needs and opportunities.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high performing team across the function.


Corporate Procurement:

  • Develop and own robust indirect procurement strategies across Marketing & Technology Indirect categories of spend.
  • Partner with stakeholders to fully understand their objectives to ensure IHG obtains the best commercial terms from suppliers, whilst managing business risk.
  • Implement IHG Global Procurement's S2P Strategy, ensuring that we continually strive to deliver efficiency and effectiveness to IHG and our suppliers.
  • Shape and deliver IHG s cost efficiency plans, supporting and influencing adoption of cost consciousness throughout the two functions.


Key Skills & Experiences


  • Proven 10+ years broad experience across procurement/supply chain fields (hospitality, franchise or similar a plus)
  • Influence & negotiation skills to collaborate with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to drive results.
  • Mix of business understanding and deep expertise in procurement techniques and best practices.
  • Expertise in understanding owner's needs, whilst balancing guest experience needs to drive ROI.
  • Proven multi-year broad experience across multiple procurement categories.
  • Ability to navigate, influence and manage change in a matrix organization.
  • Deep strategic understanding of IHG s global business and hospitality industry dynamics; effective at identifying broader business trends and creating timely response within IHG.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and engaging with senior leadership across a matrix organization.
