Peer Support Specialist
Job Type Full-time Description **Spero Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our awesome team!**
This position is for a Peer Support Specialist who supports the mission of Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. **The Peer Support Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:**
* Provide recovery education to patients for every phase of treatment.
* Provide a model for both people in recovery and teammates by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
* Assist patients in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
* Provide coaching to patients to develop their own plan for advancing their recovery.
* Support connections to community based, mutual self-help groups.
* Guide patient toward the identification and achievement of specific goals defined by the patient and specified in the Treatment Plan.
* Participate in the Clinical Review process and team meetings as appropriate
* Promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy preservation, and enhancement of community living skills for patients.
* Use your experience to assist patients in finding THEIR voice and not echoing yours
* Documentation, evaluation, and achieving outcomes
* Knowledge and practice of ethical boundaries
Requirements **EDUCATION**:
* High school graduate or GED
**EXPERIENCE:**
* Must have a history of Substance Abuse Diagnosis and Treatment.
* Ability to demonstrate two years of recovery involvement.
* License: Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance
* Certification: Must have credential Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS)
