OVERVIEW

Hendall is seeking an experienced Project Director with emergency preparedness and response subject matter expertise to lead a federal government contract focused on advancing the mission of a national knowledge center for healthcare system preparedness. The successful candidate will have expertise in healthcare emergency response and project management. This role involves overseeing a large-scale technical assistance program that encompasses communications, outreach, and information technology support. Strong communication skills and a track record of providing hands-on management support for highly visible Government programs are essential. Please note this is a full-time, hybrid position that requires the project director to be IN OFFICE on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

DUTIES

  • Provide emergency preparedness and response subject matter expertise in the planning and development of healthcare technical resources and tools
  • Collaborate with federal agencies, health care entities, and other stakeholders to develop relevant and timely content and ensure alignment with program goals
  • Manage subcontracts
  • Ensure timely completion and delivery of all tasks and products
  • Provide executive direction to accomplish the work of the contract
  • Make operational and staffing decisions
  • Adhere to work timelines and supervise all contract work
  • Interact with the Government and contractor management for purposes of planning and control of the contract
  • Advise the Government customer of any difficulties arising from the administration of the contract
  • Assume responsibility for quality assurance initiatives
  • Commit to partnering with the Government customer to focus on project quality and program success

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public health, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 7-10 years of experience in healthcare emergency response
  • Understanding of healthcare system preparedness and roles and responsibilities at the healthcare coalition, state, and/or National (federal inter-agency) level and with the private sector
  • Familiarity with the eighteen specific provider and supplier types affected by the CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule
  • Basic understanding of specialty care, including but not limited to CBRN, mass trauma, special pathogens, and pediatrics
  • Experience in healthcare workforce resilience including, but not limited to behavioral health, workplace violence, and access to personal protective equipment a plus
  • Ability to contribute to and oversee development of materials on medical surge subject matters such as patient movement, medical operations, coordination centers, and crisis standards of care
  • ASPR, NDMS or similar agency experience
  • Experience leading communications, outreach, training and technical assistance, or related initiatives
  • Experience managing government contracts in a project manager, project director, or similar role
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and interpreting programmatic data sets
  • Experience ensuring adherence to the requirements of a performance-based contract, including meeting the acceptable quality levels of a quality assurance surveillance plan, and delivering in accordance with a schedule of deliverables
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and to establishing and maintaining strong, productive relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
