Processes payments and revenues associated with telecommunications, financial contracts, and chargebacks, including those processed through archives and the grants. Coordinates with p-card custodians to validate receipts, p-card logs, and verifies submitted p-card packages are complete. Performs a variety of financial and accounting functions using Fairfax County's financial system. Provides a high-level of customer service to internal and external DIT customers by providing quality assistance in a timely manner. Exhibits attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Actively demonstrates teamwork skills and contributes to the overall success of the fiscal management services team. Researches and remains informed of county procurements, payments, reporting guidelines and updates to FOCUS and related financial systems. Ensures compliance with guidelines and adheres to all deadlines. Performs other duties as may be assigned to further the goals and objectives of DIT. Works u nder the direction of the Financial Specialist II.Employment StandardsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: (airfaxcounty.gov/hr/equivalencies-education-and-experience)(Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to")Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting; or a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field that has been supplemented by at least 6 credit hours of basic accounting principles and concepts.BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level.The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However, persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background and credit check to the satisfaction of the employer.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Direct experience managing several procurement cards, procurement card payments, logs, and the reconciliation of bank statements. Experience processing fiscal journal entries in FOCUS or another SAP enterprise system and creating reports on procurement activity is a plus. Previous experience supporting a fiscal management team with multiple business units, ability to interpret contracts for viability, and effective communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills are important.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Job is generally sedentary in nature; however, employee must be sufficiently mobile to deliver documents and operate keyboard driven equipment. Visual acuity is required to read data on a computer monitor and in printed format.
