Electronics Technician (Animatics Customer Service Technician)


Job Details

* Ensure production and customer service quality standards are met while achieving delivery goals

* Set-up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies using standard and specialized lab equipment

* Perform evaluations of returned items, identifies specific failures, and determines cause of failures.

* Read and interpret test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine appropriate testing procedures and equipment

* Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions, such as temperature change and vibration

* Calibrate test instruments according to specifications and procedures

* Connect product to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, or spectrum analyzer

* Read digital and analog measurement devices which indicate electronic characteristics, such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance

* Compare results with specifications, and record the test data

* Analyze test results on defective units to determine cause of failure

* Work with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results

* Assist in devising test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units

* Work independently to perform assembly operations in a fast-paced work environment

* Utilize PC to program software/firmware onto Smart Motor product

* Perform testing operations on Smart Motors

* Troubleshoot basic electronic and mechanical assembly problems

* Perform assembly, touch-up, and final assembly of Smart Motors

* Perform basic mechanical assembly utilizing small hand tools and crimpers

* Recognize and make recommendations for procedural and/or process changes

* Work and interact in a team environment

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees

* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, and volume

* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form

* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

* Possess knowledge of manufacturing, spreadsheet, and word processing software, and the ability to navigate a computer to complete basic to intermediate tasks

* Possess excellent troubleshooting skills on the component level

* Ability to operate all types of test equipment including oscilloscopes, computer controlled specialized test equipment, function generators, meters, power supplies, and special test fixtures

* Prior manufacturing experience using tools and gauges

* Prior experience with set-up testing processes, including Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Acceptance Testing Process (ATP)
