Job Summary:As a Trade Specialist at our client you will play a critical role in supporting our legal team by providing expertise and assistance in matters related to international trade law. You will be responsible for conducting research, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and assisting our clients with their trade-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on international trade regulations, trade agreements, and customs compliance to provide timely and accurate information to the legal team and clients.
  2. Trade Compliance: Assist clients in understanding and adhering to trade regulations and customs requirements, including tariff classifications, country-of-origin determinations, and export controls.
  3. Document Review: Review and analyze trade-related documents, contracts, and agreements to identify potential issues or areas for improvement in compliance.
  4. Client Support: Collaborate with clients to address trade-related concerns, provide guidance on trade-related matters, and assist in the development of trade strategies.
  5. Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the development and implementation of trade compliance policies and procedures, helping clients establish best practices in accordance with international trade law.
  6. Educational Outreach: Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations and disseminate information to clients and internal teams through training sessions and informational materials.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with legal professionals, government agencies, and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in international trade matters.
  8. Reporting: Prepare reports and summaries of trade-related issues, keeping the legal team and clients informed of developments that may affect their business operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Trade, Law, or a related field (a legal background is a plus)
  • Profound knowledge of international trade laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in trade compliance software and tools.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
