Must-haves
Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Civil Engineering
3+ years of experience as an architect, supporting the development of industrial and/or power generating facilities
Expertise in AutoCAD for architectural design; building design concepts including various wall and roof system types, interior and exterior renovations, and space planning techniques
Strong technical skills and analysis related to industrial or energy delivery infrastructure
Interior and exterior space planning, renovations, repairs, and improvements based on NYC building codes, safety requirements and corporate standards/regulations
Experience in civil engineering, providing structural design and calculations
Ability to develop end to end construction packages and provide architectural guidance
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Comfortable working 3 days/week onsite in NYC

Looking for an Architectural Engineer to join the Substation Projects Engineering team and support the development of civil engineering packages for commercial and industrial projects. In this role, you will manage end to end project lifecycle for new and existing construction and provide architectural design expertise and guidance. You will perform building code analysis, understand safety requirements, and ensure operations meet schedule, budget, project goals, specifications, and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities include --
Develop architectural/engineering scope for capital and expense construction packages, as well as investigate and troubleshoot existing projects to solve a wide variety of architectural issues.
Provide technical analysis and architectural guidance for cross functional teams and perform independent calculations either by hand or utilizing design software, as well as building code reviews to comply with regulations.
Work on assignments that focus on substation facilities, which occasionally include implementation of new regulatory or technological requirements and first-of-a-kind projects with unique requirements.
Ensure all operations meet schedule, budget, project goals, specifications, and regulatory guidelines throughout entire project lifecycle.
Develop and interpret the design basis criteria; Modify and adapt existing design features as needed.
Present design concepts and recommendations to stakeholders
Assist in the preparation of 3D electronic design models, preliminary and final construction documents and specification sections for buildings and! ! equipment enclosures.
Conduct code and life safety analysis for architectural designs and develop safety reference drawings in support of the analysis.
Conduct energy code analysis to develop the architectural drawings and details associated with the building envelope and compliance with applicable energy codes and initiatives.
Review and coordinate vendor submittals for conformity with construction documents during construction phase.
