Subcontract Administrator


Job Details

This is a hybrid position that can be fulfilled in either Huntsville, AL or Herndon, VA.

The individual will be responsible for executing procurement activities such as: proposal support, supplier identification and solicitation, source selection, placement of purchase order and/or subcontract awards, and post award administration of major transactions for various programs within Akima and its family of companies. The applicant must have an understanding of FAR/DFARS, GSA Federal Schedules, Federal IDIQ, GWAC contracts and supplemental acquisition regulations of government agencies. Have a minimum of 3 years of subcontract administration experience, have an understanding and ability to perform price and cost analysis and methodologies, have an intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Suite and MS SharePoint, have excellent communication, organizational and writing skills, be a self-starter, able to carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision and be able to travel (as required). Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and negotiates NDAs and TAs
  • Prepares RFPs tailored to specific requirements; evaluates subcontractor proposals, develops negotiation strategy in concert with
  • Program Managers, and leads negotiations; cost/price analysis
  • Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends subcontractors and suppliers, approves payment, and maintain necessary records.
  • Prepares subcontracts of low, medium, and high complexity.
  • Works with different subcontract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Plus and hybrids), modifies subcontracts and exercises options, terminates and closes out subcontracts.
  • Develops award files to meet with company and Government policies and regulations
  • Assesses risk and initiates action to mitigate risk at all phases of subcontract formation, performance and close-out.
  • Monitors subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters; executes contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and performs close-out activities.
  • Supports proposal efforts as required.
  • Initiates and negotiates various supplier/subcontractor agreements.
  • Provides advice and support in developing Statements of Work (SOW); sources selection criteria and performing source selections.
  • Provides guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to contracts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience required or Bachelor s degree in Business or related field plus 1-3 years of experience.
  • Must be able to qualify and obtain a security clearance if required.
  • Experience in a CPSR environment
