JOB SUMMARY

Blackhawk Datacoms Procurement Specialist provides tactical support to BlackHawk Datacoms purchasing, shipping, receiving, storage, and accounting functions related to corporate procurement. BlackHawk expects the specialist to execute the duties of the position in a manner that emphasizes safety, quality, continuous improvement, and respect in all aspects of the role. The Procurement specialist will attempt to meet or exceed client expectations while meeting stakeholder business/financial requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all work assignments maintain safety standards set forth in BlackHawk policies and those of the customer.
  • Works closely with the Marketing & Sales, Product Innovation, Service Delivery and Support Teams to develop and improve cross-functional processes that efficiently deliver BlackHawk products and services to the market at targeted margins as defined by the annual budget both operations and capital expenditures and the strategic business plan.
  • Works with the Executives, Directors, and Staff to accomplish the responsibilities below.

The Supply Chain Specialist provides leadership guidance, and tactical support to the Supply Chain Team within four primary areas.

Planning

  • Assist in Developing of Strategic Partnerships with Preferred, Secondary, and Tertiary Vendors to Ensure Procurement Efficiency when that Time Arrives.
  • Maintain Understanding and Knowledge of Market Conditions for Items that Produce Revenue for the Company to Ensure Knowledge of Item Availability
  • Develop Understanding of Upcoming Tasks to Ensure Adequate Procurement Avenues.

Organizing

  • Assist in the Development and Maintenance of Item List in Business Central
  • Assist in the Development and Maintenance of Item Prices in Item List
  • Ensure Timely and Accurate Accountability for Receipts Shipments, and Issues of Goods
  • Set up files consistent with the company established project documentation methodology to ensure that all procurement information is appropriately recorded and accessible to others as needed

Leading

  • Meet with Manager Regularly to Ensure Knowledge of Upcoming Tasks
  • Proactively Notify Supply Chain Manager of Potential Supply Chain Delays
  • Regularly Review Key Process Indicators Meant to Ensure Efficient Departmental Operation.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update Supply Chain Manager, including appropriate staff in the organization, on the progress of the procurement tasks.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality

Controlling

Controlling is all about keeping task on track. Procurement control can be performed using a three-step process...

  • Measuring: Checking procurement progress against customer expectations
  • Evaluating: Determining the cause of deviations from the plan
  • Correcting: Taking corrective actions to address deviations if those are possible.
    • Address Items within BlackHawks Control
    • Alert BlackHawk when Issues are Outside of BlackHawks Control

Actions/activities under this area include the following:

  • Adhere to the procurement process and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the task
  • Monitor and seek approval for all task-based expenditures
  • Update actual expenses and variance
  • Document overall procurement performance and lessons learned.

METRICS THAT MATTER

  • Percentage of Tasks Completed on Time and Within Budget
    • Document Percentage of Tasks Completed Within Due Date
    • Calculate Budget vs. Actual Spend on Each Purchase

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the Supply Chain Specialist must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Some Experience Working in Industrial Settings
  • Some Experience in Procurement of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Access Control, and Remote Telecommunications Industry or Similar
  • Entry Level of Experience in Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling Project Lifecycle

EXPERT KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITY REQUIRED IN THE BELOW TECHNOLOGIES/FUNCTIONS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products Including, but not Limited to, Sharepoint, Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Proficiency in Written and Verbal Communication
  • Proficiency in Developing Personal Relationships with Vendors that Create Significant Value for BlackHawk
  • Demonstrated Proficiency Managing Rigorous and Time Sensitive Initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Procurement Specialist does not supervise others. Supply Chain Specialist is Responsible for sharing all learned best practices with Supply Chain manager and other Supply Chain Team Personnel Including:
