Insomnia Cookies is looking for a People Manager to join our fast-paced and dynamic People Team. As a People Manager, you will implement best practices and drive efficiencies across the HR function, streamlining processes and driving culture. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across all levels of the organization on a variety of people-focused projects and initiatives. You will coach and counsel field and Support Center managers on matters relating to performance management, as well as exit and termination management, and you will conduct internal investigations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to understand and execute the organization's human resource strategy, particularly as it relates to attraction and retention of talent, people management, and succession planning.
  • Provide consultative support and strategic guidance on HR topics to stakeholders across the company, including on employee relations matters, performance management, and ongoing strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the administration of disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations, including maintaining documentation to ensure complete and up-to-date personnel files.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of a regular employee engagement survey, including analyzing impact, activating action items, and designing follow-up priorities and communication plans.
  • Manage and enhance employee benefits, including compensation, health insurance, 401K, and expense reimbursement programs.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits and research and propose competitive base and incentive programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Manage the performance appraisal process, collaborate with team leaders to understand the skills and competencies required for different positions and to set goals and objectives, and work with people managers on communication and providing regular feedback.
  • Work with other members of the People Team and cross-functional leaders to create learning and development programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to all applicable wage and hour laws and regulations related to Fair Work Week, FMLA< OSHA< EEO, and ADA and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to ensure and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and employment law.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of direct human resource management experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
  • Experience working with a global organization desired but not required.
  • Aptitude, curiosity, and a desire to make an impact for our Insomniacs!
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced environment (the life of a People Manager at a growing company!).
  • The ability to identify and resolve issues using sound judgment, a cool head, and a reasoned approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to collaborate with a small People Team and internal business partners across departments, including in the Support Center and in the field.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The capacity to learn quickly, self-start, receive and apply feedback, and work independently when needed while always being a team player.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization s HRIS system.
