Job Summary:
As a Contract Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our client's IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role requires expertise in systems engineering principles, technologies, and best practices, with a focus on deploying and managing complex systems and networks. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to support key business systems, resolve technical issues, and drive innovation in IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and resilient IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
2. Configure and manage operating systems, applications, and system management tools to optimize performance and ensure security and compliance.
3. Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support key business systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
5. Provide technical expertise and support for hardware, software, and network configurations, troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions.
6. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate knowledge sharing.
7. Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades and migrations, including patch management, software updates, and hardware refresh cycles.
8. Conduct technical research and evaluation of new technologies and solutions to drive continuous improvement and innovation in IT infrastructure.
9. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to procure hardware, software, and services, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.

Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering or related roles.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage technologies.
- Proficiency in networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and stakeholders.
