Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.This is seasonal or temporary work assisting a crew by performing simple manual work in the maintenance of City streets, buildings or other facilities. Persons in this classification may be hired to provide extra temporary workers during busy summer construction season.Employees in this class are responsible for performing manual work requiring some easily teamed skills and general strength. They may use standard hand tools and may perform manual labor. Employees must be alert to the hazards typical in construction-type work and show the ability to practice safety.Work is normally performed under the supervision of a permanent employee who directs the work and provides instructions as needed. Work is inspected on a frequent basis.* May paint or clean buildings or rooms;* Performs simple various grounds and facilities maintenance tasks at City-owned buildings or utility plants;* Operates various types of trucks and other equipment in utility assignments;* Performs outdoor maintenance on city owned and derelict properties;* Operates hand tools and general maintenance and mowing equipment;* Maintains equipment in good working order;* Performs related work as required.* Must be Sixteen (16) years of age.
