The Opportunity

Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Systems Integration Supervisor for our Irving, TX location. The primary function of this position is to lead a team to ensure personal development of all members and be responsible for the team s performance with respect to safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Drive continuous improvement and lean principles within the group. Communicate frequently with a broad group of individuals across Abbott to ensure the success of the failure analysis program.

Lead team to create and develop system-related (i.e., hardware, software, labeling and/or assay) verification, characterization and/or data gathering protocols. Lead team to execute verification protocols and develop the correct written data package summaries for the needed activity in accordance with governing procedures. Lead team to identify and confirm causes behind instrument issues, discrepancies or problems and devises root cause hypotheses and confirms instrument issues, discrepancies or problems in accordance with governing procedures. Interact on cross functional teams with Engineering, Global Service and support, internal service support, labeling, risk management, Regulatory and Quality. All work is performed in accordance with governing procedures.

What You ll Work On

  • Performs resource management in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Assess skill gaps and seek opportunities for knowledge transfer. Staff appropriately trained and skilled individuals to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Manages assigned projects; work cross functionally to identify changes and necessary resources.
  • Helps staff succeed through performance management. Provide coaching and performance communication to support development. Establish a motivational climate for the group.
  • Creates a climate of trust and respect within the group.
  • Supports and fosters an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging staff to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation. Creates or participates in identification of critical performance requirements that link to system design that are appropriate for the change under test across interacting functions, (i.e., hardware, software, labeling and/or assay)
  • Performs protocol execution and interprets results based on acceptance criteria, execution data and the stats plan for formal verification. Interprets success or failure of the protocol under test.
  • Performs data analysis and documentation of the evaluation of results from informal testing to form conclusions and provide/implement improvements.
  • Performs complex written data package summaries capturing verification activity including documenting any discrepant or problematic issues during verification.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the ADD quality system.
  • Provides input into moderate to complex project and design plans and timelines. May act as an Independent Reviewer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU LL BRING

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
  • 8+ Years Experience.
  • Good Lab Practice, PC Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Possesses advanced troubleshooting skills across multiple system functions (hardware, software and/or assay performance problems).
  • Possesses advanced proficiency skills in operation of instrument, software operating systems, and repair/replacement of parts/subassemblies.
  • Demonstrates use of statistics, Design of Experimentation, Six Sigma method, FEMA Cause and Effect or Fishbone Diagram and/or DOORS.
  • Presents, delivers and interprets information amongst product team members, scientists, engineers, and other systems development personnel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates Customer Focus, making their needs a primary focus of one's actions.

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
