Location: Columbus - Columbus, OH, United States (US) Employment Status: Salary Full-Time Req ID: 24597 Position Summary: The Application Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the application engineering department. He or she will create high value automation solutions to solve customer's manufacturing requirements particularly in the die casting, forging, and foundry industries. Working in conjunction with the sales team, the Application Engineer Manager acts a key technical advisor to develop proposals while maintaining a strong customer relationship throughout the sales cycle. Responsibilities: * Oversee the activities of the application department to follow standard operating procedures while also leading process improvement activities to improve the efficiency of the department. * Partners with sales leaders to understand customer requirements and leads team to meet customer requirements. * Review customer RFQ document and other specifications to clearly define customer scope and delegate workload to the application engineering team. * Ensure application team is properly maintaining all opportunities within the Company's CRM system and establish methods to improve quote efficiency and accuracy. * Create and implement a development plan for all application team members. Provide coaching and guidance as needed. * Work closely with customer to understand their manufacturing requirements and cost justification for automation. * Determine the Company deliverables and services which address these requirements and fit within the justified cost. * Develop project cost model using technical knowledge, historical data, and input from the Company internal resources. * Create proposal document and system layout concept which clearly outlines the Company's proposed solution * Lead technical and commercial discussions with various audiences including Executive employees, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing. * Lead proposal review meeting ensure accuracy of process, cost and margin for all open quotes. Qualifications and Skills Desired: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred - equivalent experience or degree with experience considered * Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial automation * Expert knowledge in aluminum foundry, high or low pressure aluminum casting, or forging * Proven leadership skills with a strong willingness to provide hands-on guidance. * Project management skills * Expert knowledge of the following: * PLCs and HMIs * Industrial safety standards for equipment and robotics * AutoCAD * SolidWorks or equivalent * Robot simulation-various OEMs. * Strong written and verbal communication skills * ProficientApply here:
