Position Title: Legal Secretary, Litigation
Location: San Francisco, CA, 94104
Salary: $100-105K/year, depending on experience
Job Responsibilities
In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for assisting in drafting and preparing various legal documents, such as routine notices, filings, pleadings and letters
You will compile, review and organize documents for meetings, trials, and filings
Under direction of counsel, you will convey routine information to clients about legal and contractual issues
You will perform legal research as assigned by attorneys
You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and using Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
You will assist with contract reviews, working with other departments as needed
You will also be instrumental in making process improvements and implementing recommendations
You will maintain the inventory of office supplies
You will establish and maintain litigation and other files, correspondence, records, certificates and other documents
You will schedule meetings, set up video conference calls, assist with travel arrangements, efile documents with state and federal courts, create TOAs and TOCs, and perform other executive administrative functions as needed.
Requirements
Legal Assistant must possess 10 or more years of relevant experience
Legal Assistant in a civil litigation firm strongly preferred.
Strong experience and expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Legal Assistant must possess the ability to work independently while managing changing priorities and projects
Legal Assistant must have experience writing effective and diplomatic correspondence
Legal Assistant must have excellent attention to detail, organization and planning, confidentiality and problem solving abilities
Legal Assistant must have knowledge of federal and state court rules and know how to efile and do calendaring and docketing
College degree or paralegal certificate strongly preferred
Prior experience working in employment litigation setting is strongly preferred, though not required
