Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Maritime Field Service Engineer performs on-site support for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on the AN/SPS-75 and AN/SPS-80 radar systems. This includes providing technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of technical radar systems, and expertise in troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems for naval and coast guard radar systems. Application of diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and implement repairs is essential. Up to 60% CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required.
Duties and responsibilities include:Provides on-site troubleshooting of AN/SPS-75 and AN/SPS-80 radar systems, including testing and diagnosticsStudies and reviews technical manuals and publications for on-site applicationReplaces defective components and installs components, kits, and consumable partsProvides training and technical expertise to customers, including consultative assistance during off hours as neededImplements software upgrades as updates are made by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)Prepares and publishes engineering reports at the end of each on-site visit, detailing diagnostic readings, summary actions, and recommendationsProfessionally briefs and addresses all levels of stakeholders regarding visitsRequirements:
10+ years of experience in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) repair on maintenance ; understanding of radar software and its interface with hardware and RDCsMust have hands-on experience with either the AN/SPS-75 or AN/SPS-80 radar.Ability to use testing and diagnostic tools, including multimeters, optical time-domain reflectometers (OTDRs), and other equipment; acumen to analyze results and draw conclusionsStrong attention to detail and ability to administer troubleshooting steps as outlined in technical manualsAbility to communicate effectively and understand complex engineering conceptsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteAble to carry and lift up to 50lbsMust be a U.S. citizen, have a valid passport, and possess an active Secret Security ClearanceMust have a clean driving record and ability to travel within the U.S.Must be willing to work in both a maritime and shipyard environmentMust be willing to attend tower climbing certification program
