Dexian has an immediate opportunity available for a Data Center Technician to support data center operations for our premier aerospace customer. The Data Center Technician will rack new servers, connect power and network cables and remove servers and end of life equipment for bond processing.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Work onsite in Chantilly, VA and support classified and unclassified data centers.
- Rack and stack equipment including network switches, servers, storage, and power distribution devices.
- Connect power cables and work with the networking team to connect network components.
- Manage requests for new installs and coordinate requirements.
- Inventory new shipments to verify all components have been received.
- Perform a daily walk-through in the data center and associated spaces to check for alarms in data center equipment.
- Manage and maintain server and rack location documentation.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Junior Technician with three to five (3 - 5) years' experience OR mid-level Technician with five to eight (5 - 8) years' experience working in an IT environment moving and installing computer equipment.
- Basic to mid-level knowledge in networking, server sizing and server capacity planning, security hardening, and OS installation.
- Basic to mid-level knowledge in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity concepts.
- Basic to mid-level knowledge with database, web server, enterprise backup software administration.
- Basic to mid-level knowledge with Server vulnerability remediation.
- Position may require ability to sit, stand, walk extended distances, bend, stoop, squat and lift to 35 lbs. from the floor to desktop for extended periods of time.
This position requires an active Department of Defense Security clearance at the Top-Secret level at time of hire. Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with a polygraph.
U.S. citizens ONLY are eligible for security clearance and this position.
EDUCATION:
- Associate degree in IT studies, preferred.
- IAT Level-2 Technical Certification required at time of hire. CompTIA Security+, preferred.
COMPENSATION:
Dexian reasonably expects to offer $28.24/hour to $33.93/hour to a Junior level Technician OR $36.80/hour to $43.30/hour to a Mid-level Technician. Dexian offers generous benefits to include health, vision and dental insurance, matching 401k and time off.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Submit/Pass a 10-year background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints.
- Valid driver's license/Real-ID with clean driver's history.
- Self-starter with extremely strong work ethic. Excellent time-management and multitasking skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy required.
- Demonstrated problem solving and people skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate details in a professional manner
- Must embrace technology to promote efficient operations.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word programs.
- Working knowledge of app/database ticketing systems. Knowledge with ServiceNow, a plus.
