Overview:

The Universitys Social Media Specialist will be responsible for creating intriguing content, engaging dialog, and creative postings on all Social Media platforms. The person hired into this role will be responsible for managing the University Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok accounts, with an additional responsibility of developing a following on other platforms. The role will need to design creative content to develop buzz surrounding Stratford Universitys academic offerings Thinking strategically and leveraging your social media skills to drive campaign results both on and offline are the heart of this role. The Social Media Specialist will work with other members of the University team to implement social media campaigns that align with University initiatives. Their role will be to connect with influencers, optimize social media accounts. The person hired into this role will be responsible for writing posts, post captions, taking photos, creating videos, and/or creating other content for social media platforms. The duties will include creating and updating social media posting, replying to comments from subscribers or liking tagged photos and coordinating with other professionals to determine how to market a brand and its products or services using social media. This role will be responsible for developing a following, and ensuring that all communications, and hashtag campaigns follow the Universitys established brand. The Social Media Specialist will create, implement and manage the next generation of web dashboard reports and ROI analytics, utilizing the latest social media metrics, vendor tools, management of internal databases, and business intelligence software. You must be passionate and confident about turning data into success stories and discussing results with internal and external clients.

Functions:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Manage and utilize social media for impressions and brand awareness, building the audience and followers of each social media account.
  • Provide content creation, and manage the dialog and campaigns of social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Snapchat.
  • Measure the success of all social media campaigns, by tracking social media KPIs, web traffic metrics and SEO
  • Manage Stratford Universitys social media campaigns, which will include our strategic marketing plans.
  • Write and post regular updates to various social media outlets and emerging social platforms.
  • Aggressively develop social media programs and initiatives to engage prospective students and faculty.
  • Continually monitor and participate in real-time social media conversations. Monitor accounts for questions and feedback, respond accordingly and escalate if necessary.
  • Consistently bring fresh, practical ideas that drive sales and fan interest.
  • Stay up-to-date on new social media trends, platforms and analytics, always looking to improve upon our existing methods and workflow.
  • Establish systems to measure the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on campaign effectiveness
  • Regularly track performance and produce detailed reports on the effectiveness, reach and ROI of social media campaigns.
  • Responsible for creating, editing videos, and/or creating other content for social media platforms
  • Responsible for engaging with campus Staff/Faculty and with University Students to collect spotlights, student highlights, engaging campus stories, and continuous content development.
  • This role will require consistent travel between University Campuses, to meeting with Staff/Faculty and to record videos, take pictures, film graduation, collect content to be posted/shared or incorporated into social media posts.
  • May be required to manage a team of Student Workers, who will assist in the entire marketing department
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Leadership Team

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelors degree
  • At least four years of hands on experience for a large brand, marketing agency or consumer market research firm in which client reporting, research and web-based analytics and client dashboards were central to the business.
  • Understanding of media content and how to package such content in a compelling way for a social audience while driving sales campaigns and ROI.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends, draw valid conclusions, make insightful recommendations and identify opportunities to grow our business.
  • Strong ability converting research data into insightful, actionable business strategies.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills to interpret data and mine for insights.
  • Knowledge of best practices on major social media platforms and how to strategically utilize those platforms to solve our problems and achieve our goals.
