INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE ONLY.....



9 hours Monday - Wednesday, 8 hours Thursday and 5 hours on Friday. They can choose to start at 6am or 7am.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Review shipping schedules to establish needs and priorities. Select, gather and prepare materials, parts, components and units for shipment. Make up boxes, crates, skids and other packaging materials. Method of shipment generally established or in accordance with customer requirements. As necessary, match parts and units with drawings to ensure correctness.

2. Route local shipments, contact carriers, prepare bills of lading, arrange for foreign shipments.

3. Prepare hazardous materials for shipment complying with appropriate regulations. Determine shipping categories and route shipments in the most effective and economical way. Contact carriers for rates, availability of carriers, etc. Contact forwarders and export organizations for necessary methods and details and arrange for the preparation of required documentation.

4. Keep inventory or hazardous materials and all SDS documents up to date. Keep inventory of shop supplies and re-order or submit requisition to Purchasing.

5. Help load and unload trucks. Reports any part shortages to Purchasing so expediting of part can be done.

6. Operates lift trucks, hand trucks and cranes following all safety rules.

7. Check received goods against purchase orders or prints. Prepare and maintain appropriate records and receipts and disbursements for accurate inventory control purposes.

8. Select materials as specified by bills of materials to furnish production with needed parts and supplies. Label crates and packages properly.

9. Regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, and promptness required.

10. Observe all safety rules to prevent injury to self and others and maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Requires some limited blueprint reading to identify parts and units. Basic mathematics and use of rule and similar measuring devices. Experience of up to three years necessary to become familiar and proficient with processes and procedures. Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively with company personnel, vendors and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Basic shop mathematics. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
