Sales Director - Biotech

Mantell Associates has partnered with a Biotech organisation who is seeking a Director of Sales to strengthen its Commercial team.


Sales Director - Responsibilities:

  • You will be measured against: Sales pipeline development, number of new buying clients, and customer satisfaction
  • Success looks like: 10 new projects weighted above 50%, 4 new buying clients, and customer satisfaction above 9 on a scale from 1-10
  • Daily tasks: Active contact with clients (preferably personal presence), participate in exhibitions, counselling, prepare and calculate quotations
  • Internally, you will have a close collaboration with the rest of the sales team and the Project Engineering Department
  • Externally, you will have a close contact with decision makers, engineering departments and site responsibles
  • There is an opportunity to be responsible for the US market/Head of Sales US
  • A high degree of travel activity is expected in the role, primarily in PA, NC, NJ, MA, and Puerto Rico


Sales Director - Requirements:

  • Proven track record within technical project sales and direct sales
  • Experience from the pharma and biotech industry
  • Experience with engineering firms working within the pharma and biotech industry
  • Technical background, e.g., as an engineer
  • The ideal candidate has all of the above however, experience with technical project sales and direct sales is an essential requirement
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience is expected.
  • The candidate needs to be self-driven and a hunter , likeable, trustworthy, strong communicator, a high degree of perseverance, able to close the deal
  • Experience with CRM system(s) is a requirement
