Founded in 2019, the company brought a together a team of CPG leaders, scientists, US attorneys, and nutritionists to overcome long-standing challenges in the Food and Beverage Industry. The firm s founder has extensive experience in the development of nanocarriers for cancer therapeutics. Transferring that knowledge to F&B production, the company s highly insulated nanovesicle technology uses GRAS (generally regarded as safe) ingredients.
The company s proprietary food-grade nanovesicles resolve prevalent issues associated with incorporation of functional ingredients including poor taste, limited bioavailability, slow onset, uncontrolled release kinetics, product stability, and shelf-life longevity. With several patents in hand, and more pending relative to the process and structure and ingredient base for the nanovesicles, Nulixir possesses compelling insulation and a competitive advantage.
Position overview:
In this role, you will be responsible to further develop new food grade encapsulation technologies that enhance and apply Nulixir s proprietary technology. This role is tasked to develop cost effective technical solutions to increase the performance of our formulated products in the targeted applications of food, beverage, and dietary supplements. You will be responsible for developing a pipeline of new products based on the needs of Nulixir's customers. These customers will range from early-stage start-ups to established blue-chip companies.
This person will interact with other scientists and statisticians as well as cross functionally with peers from clinical trials team, manufacturing team, and customer-facing team members. Experience in colloid science, wet chemistry, and nano-partical synthesis is required. High productivity and self-guided technical execution is expected.
This person will be responsible to evaluate, prioritize, improve, and fully commercialize novel encapsulation technologies in a timely manner. S/he will counsel senior management on research trends and developments in the area of colloid science and participate in developing intellectual property strategies in strategic technologies. This role is critical to the success of the organization as you will be expected to lead customer projects and ensure they are completed in a timely manager to enable higher revenue for the company.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in the following fields: Nanotechnology, Materials Science, and/or Chemical Engineering
- Experience in colloid science and wet chemistry required
- Applied laboratory/benchtop experience in food grade encapsulation highly preferred
Some things we consider important for this role:
- Experience in flavor and/or food ingredient industries
- Knowledgeable in liposomes, double emulsions, lipophilic particle formation, core-shell particle formation and characterization
- Multiyear track record of innovation in an industry environment
- Knowledge and/or experience in liquid-state nanoparticle synthesis and the related characterization techniques
- Publications and presentations indicative of a candidate s research in relevant areas by peers
- Experience scaling product development into a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment
