Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Familiar with rubber molds and all of the components of the mold
• Ability to disassemble mold for cleaning and or repairs to any component
• Ability to work from blueprints/drawings or models of mold components and make repairs as needed utilizing, milling machines, lathes, welders and other metal shop equipment.
• Ability to maintain tooling records for service, repairs and details of work performed, parts replaced, and labor hours used for each task.
• Must maintain spare parts inventory for all shop supplies, bolts, springs, thermocouples, cartridge heaters, steel rods, plates etc. to ensure ability to keep molds in production
• Must support production requirements for any mold issues while mold is in production.
• Must comply with company red, green and amber mold status tag program
• Must ensure molds going into production are green tagged and initialed that all PM s were performed, and mold is 100% production ready
• Must support production with jigs, gauges and machine shop set ups of equipment for production personnel to use for production parts
• Constructs and repairs all machine shop equipment, tools, gauges, fixtures jigs, dies that are used within the facility
• Must be able to operate all machine tools
• Able to perform the highly critical assembly of mold operations, fitting/refitting, reventing, making adjustments to steel to ensure proper mold shutoff without part flashing
• Answers trouble calls from manufacturing departments as required
• Solves problems relating to unusual material, work holding arrangements, machine settings fabrication methods, and production process
• Can repair cavity and core steel imperfections due to wear or damage
• Must be able to solve any basic mold problems including flash conditions, galling, venting, cooling or heating issues, assembly, clean and polish molds using care and hand skills while polishing critical surfaces
• Ability to support engineering changes and revisions to tooling.
• Ability to fabricate engineering required new product prototypes or fixtures
• Ability to measure utilizing all quality instruments.
• Familiarity with GD&T

Requirements:

• Expertise in manufacturing environment as a strong Machinist
• 3-5 yrs experience
• Familiarity in a machine shop
• Proficiency and utilized CNC machines, mills, other metal machines.
• Must be able to interpret design engineering drawings, make fixtures and tooling from those drawings
