IT Field Technician

Contract to Hire

Central California Clients are located between Sacramento and Los Angeles


Our client, a leader in the emergency response space, is adding to their growing team in Central CA! The Field Technician is the primary on-site support for most basic installation and troubleshooting activities at their customer sites. The right person will be able to work on-call and have customer facing experience. The company will provide you with a car to use for travel to client sites!


Summary:

75% of your time will be focused on -

  • Serves as the primary on-site support for basic installations, site visits, and assisting more senior staff with site surveys and more complex installations and troubleshooting.
  • Services primarily hardware and software system components and any necessary upgrades and basic maintenance.
  • Assists senior staff with equipment inventory, staging, and configuration.
  • Logs and tracks all service order activity, maintains history records, and related problem documentation.
  • Consults with senior team members and their liaisons to understand software and hardware errors.


And the other 15-25% will be

  • Coordinates with the assigned Project Manager, VP of Implementations services, and/or Field Service Manager for daily and weekly schedules.
  • Promptly notifies Project Manager, Field Service Manager, and customer of any schedule changes or delay.
  • Communication will be required in-person, by phone, and in writing at the discretion of the Field Service Manager.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by responding to inquiries in a timely manner and coordinating customer service needs with other departments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends
  • Ability to report onsite at the client site in assigned territory within 2 hours of notification
  • Frequent domestic travel paid by NGA (85% - once you gain seniority/expertise with the technologies)
  • Possess a valid state driver s license
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Identify wire and cable colors
  • Communicate effectively with customers and technical personnel/leadership
  • MUST be able to pass a complete background check
