As a Product Specialist at Van Metre, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and selecting top-quality materials for our products. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for design trends, excellent negotiation skills, and a profound understanding of the construction industry. This role demands not only a discerning eye for design but also strong project management skills, coupled with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Design and Purchasing and Market Intelligence teams to contribute insights into the development of new home product and features.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to make recommendations for product enhancements.
- Evaluating and selecting materials and finishes that align with the company's aesthetic and quality standards and market trends.
- Managing and enhancing relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality materials for our products.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify customer preferences, demographics, and regional trends that influence home purchasing decisions.
- Analyze competitor products and pricing to position our homes competitively in the market.
- Coordinating with the sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate product features and benefits to potential homebuyers.
- Monitor and assess the quality of finished homes, working with construction teams to address any issues and ensure homes meet our high standards related to the finishes.
- Providing technical support to project teams during the design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, sales, design, and construction, to ensure seamless communication and alignment in product strategies.
- Contributing to the creation of design guidelines and standards to maintain consistency across various residential developments.
- Collaborating with the product design team to optimize our products for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Other Essential Skills & Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in product management or a similar role within the homebuilding or real estate industry.
- Strong understanding of residential construction processes and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and data.
