Overview:
Distribution Supervisors are responsible for growing and developing teams to provide world class service to our e-commerce customers through the leadership and coaching of associates to achieve production and meet quality standards. Supervisors are responsible for conducting team meetings, maintaining efficient budget expenditure, documenting performance conversations and evaluations, as well as resolving a variety of associate concerns. The position requires collaboration and coordination with a variety of departments throughout the facility in order to drive process improvement and change to meet business needs.
Description:
- Lead and manage a team of 30 to 50 part-time and full-time associates
- Monitor staff levels to ensure flow of merchandise through the department to meet deadlines and goals to maximize throughput and productivity
- Develop performance goals and objectives to achieve desired results in productivity, team work, quality, safety and job knowledge
- Effectively communicate policies while maintaining compliance and consistency in order to take corrective action as needed
- Monitor budget and payroll information of departments
- Create solutions to identify improvements in processes
- Contribute cost saving ideas on a continuous basis
- Maintain associate records (time statements, PA s, PTO and attendance tracking, etc.) in partnership with administrative teams
- Support all safety measures and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all Associates
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by Manager/Director
Qualifications:
- A two-year or four-year College Degree in management, business administration or related study, or two to five years of related field experience
- Must have prior supervisory experience in a Distribution Center environment, or relative supervisory experience in a process driven environment
- Demonstrate ability to motivate teams and manage conflict
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
- Ability to read, interpret and communicate policies
- Strong analytical and organization skills
- Ability to prioritize work based on delivery schedule
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, WMS, SAP or some other payroll/HR system
- Knowledge of Distribution operations (material handling equipment), merchandise flow, and/or logistics processing
