What you will do:

The DC SOP (Special Order Processing) team is responsible for processing all QBP's LTL (Less than Truckload), will call, QEO (QBP Employee Orders), warehouse transfers, and specialty account orders (may be site specific). You will work closely with other members of the department to ensure daily deadlines are met.

SOP is also one of the few customer-facing DC positions. You will work with Transportation, Customer Service, and the Sales teams to provide world-class service. With all the unique orders and warehouse transfers, this position requires employees to think on their feet and offers a lot of variety in daily tasks.

  • Accurately and efficiently process specialty orders and warehouse transfers before deadlines
  • Support the greater Outbound department in normal order processing for an average of 50% of your time
  • Problem solve and find solutions to process unique orders when standardized procedures aren't in place
  • Learn and accurate use UPS Worldship, and FedEx Ship Manager shipping systems as well as Highjump Dashboard and QBP.com Supersite for order investigation and problem solving
  • Participate in process improvement to make our DC better
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned


What you need to succeed:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to operate necessary equipment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to work scheduled rotating shifts
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all SOP processes
  • Complete tasks on or before deadlines
  • Ability to learn new shipping software and problem-solving tools
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts (training provided)
  • This position is vital to our success in the DC and requires a strong commitment. As such we ask that you spend a minimum of one year in the role. This provides the needed development time and continuity for the team.
  • Ability to wear company-provided cut-resistant gloves for entire shift


Other related criteria:

  • Reports to a DC Supervisor
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. repetitively and team lift up to 115 lbs., stand and walk up to 10 hours per shift
  • You may be required to work overtime and on weekends given business needs
