Waste Treatment Operations Manager

Job Details

Water Treatment Plant Manager manages the operations of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Establishes sampling and testing systems, and ensures proper testing of functionality of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment.

Handles hiring and dispatching for operation

• Requirements
• Must have the physical ability, endurance and coordination to perform assigned tasks and operate assigned equipment.
• Must have regular and punctual attendance, flexibility to work overtime and respond to emergency situations during non-scheduled work hours.
• Requires reading, writing and math skills at a level needed to understand directions, equipment operating procedures, safety rules etc.
• Working knowledge of equipment operations, safety rules.
• Must have the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Must have the ability to complete tasks as assigned.
• Ability to work in a team environment, contribute as a team member and treat co-workers and customers with respect.

• Prior experience with hazardous waste
• General knowledge of compliance of State and Regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, EPA, etc.)
• General knowledge of DOT regulations
• General knowledge of all available treatment technologies
• General knowledge of Facility Operations permits and Waste Analysis Plans

• 3 or more years of Environmental industry experience
• 3 or more years profiling waste experience
• Bachelor s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry or Engineering Preferred
