This role is responsible for executing the procurement of the materials and services that support the business by optimizing availability, inventory and reliability of the suppliers and supplied products. This role is able to participate in flex business hours on a weekly basis meaning the individual can work 1/2 of the week in the South Boston, Virginia Manufacturing Plant and the other 1/2 from a remote work office.

**Your responsibilities**

* Material demand planning: Reviews on the regular base the ERP demand plan and acts accordingly to initiate or change in a timely manner the PO to Pay Process. Shares forecast with supplier as defined.

* Procurement: Reflects promptly the contractual conditions with supplier into ERP system. Initiates and execute all necessary steps of the Procure to Pay process in line with sourcing strategy, Company instructions and procedures. Work continuously to improve process performances in line with defined objectives (i.e. PR to PO rate, late PR and Order Confirmation, Late Delivery dates, number of Blocked invoices). Addresses the exceptions in alignment with the planning and the SCM function. Takes into account supplier constraints in order to minimize risks to the delivery and extra costs. Manages long outstanding open POs adequately. Escalates issues as needed.

* Monitoring performance levels: Monitors supplier performance level on agreed KPIs and provides regular feedback to suppliers planning and SCM functions. Implements improvement measures with the suppliers in alignment with other functions. Manages simple claim with suppliers. As instructed, engages with SCM to improve the suppliers service and delivery performance. Populates agreed sections of standard reports such as Supplier Performance Evaluation.

* Reporting: As needed provides reports and shares with other colleagues and functions

* Ensure execution in accordance with Company and Supply Chain Management (SCM) sourcing strategy, instructions and procedures.

**Your background**

* High School/GE and up to 6 years of experience in buying/procurement OR

* Associate's degree in Business, Marketing or Supply Chain and up to 4 years of experience in buying/procurement OR

* Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain and up to 2 years of experience in buying/procurement.

* Experience in manufacturing buying/procurement and or transformer manufacturing.

* Ideally this role could be filled at a more senior level should the candidate meet the following: Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain and 2+ years of experience in buying/procurement

* Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi ABB Power Grids in the United States.

* Excellent communication skills to include specific and technical oral and written skills to internal personnel and external customers

* Experience with ERP systems is a plus

* MBA is a plus
