Trobec's Bus Service is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team for our Saint Joseph, MN Location
Earn $25-$35 Per Hour (Based On Experience) with sign-on bonus potential

About the Position:
- Integrate into the Trobecs culture of safety, professionalism, and service.
- Diagnose and perform repairs on gas and diesel engines, drivelines, suspension, steering, brakes, air systems, HVAC, tires, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrate competence in utilizing technology tools for diagnosis and repair. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy and thrive in a shop that utilizes technology.
- Demonstrate competence in diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems and ability to troubleshoot more complex engine and chassis problems.
- Produce quality on-time repairs.
- Follow company and manufacturer service intervals.
- Perform preventative maintenance as directed on schedule while inspecting and noting any deficiencies.
- Recognize component failures and suggest repairs as necessary to comply with current DOT safety standards.
- Participate in weekly maintenance meetings with other technicians and operations personnel. Accurately communicate in-service vehicle availability.
- Direct daily repair schedules to maximize performance and productivity within the department.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized work area.
- Effectively work independently or as a team.
- Participate in training and further education as directed.
Requirements:
- At Least 21 Years of Age
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Heavy-duty diesel engine knowledge and experience are preferred but not required.
- Must have minimum hand tool requirements
- Must be DOT Certified or be able to become certified
- Possess or willing to obtain a Class B CDL with School Bus and Passenger Endorsements
- Complete understanding of air-brake systems & air brake certification.
- Pre-employment / Random Drug & Alcohol Test
- Pre-employment background check
- Ability to lift at least 50 Lbs. and pass DOT physical
- Ability to read and understand basic repair and service manuals
- Tech-savvy.
- Strong written and oral communication
