Position: Group Practice Manager - San Francisco Bay AreaAre you passionate about improving the lives of animals and the people who love them? United Veterinary Care is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to join our team as a Group Practice Manager supporting three hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area.

As a Group Practice Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting and mentoring hospital Practice Managers and Departmental Leads to uphold these goals and our company values of providing the gold standard of care and achieving the greatest client experience. You'll partner with other Group Practice Managers and Practice Managers as part of the West region's hospital leadership team, working under our Regional Director of Operations (RDO).

Responsibilities:

  • Support the hospital Departmental Leads and Practice Managers of three bay-area hospitals, partnering with their Medical Directors, to provide high-quality pet care and unmatched client experiences.
  • Oversee training and development of the paraprofessional team with a focus on the hospital Departmental Leads and Practice Managers, partnering with the Learning and Development manager, the Medical Directors, and your RDO.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and regional support on recruitment strategies, including hiring, onboarding, and employee retention.
  • Ensure area hospitals comply with employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with Regional HR to coach, mentor, and, if necessary, discipline and terminate team members.
  • Coordinate collaboration between the area hospitals, supporting training, time off, client care, and development strategies.
  • Develop annual planning, budgeting, and goals for hospital productivity, including continuous development of KPIs, increasing average transactions, and driving visits.
Qualifications:
  • Leadership: Dedication to the advancement of veterinary medicine with a strong emphasis on team building, staff development, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make decisive decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Capacity to handle pressure and setbacks, viewing challenges as opportunities to grow.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in veterinary operations management preferred. Experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and/or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) is ideal, but not required. SHRM-CP, BS, MBA, or other advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area or be willing to relocate. Requires travel to area hospitals on an average of 4-5 days a week, with occasional travel outside of the Bay Area.

  • Competitive compensation ranges from $95,000 - $120,000 depending on credentials and experience. Candidates on the higher end of the pay range are expected to have multiple certifications, advanced degrees, and/or extensive experience in veterinary management.
