Position Purpose:
To provide all aspects of direct patron service at the Baker-Berry public service desks and provide support for other areas of Access and Delivery Services and the library.

This is a temporary, three-month position, with the possibility of a couple of months extension, and will work full-time (37.5 hours/week) Monday-Friday from 6pm-2am.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to organize work efficiently; set and modify work priorities; while under pressure and despite interruptions.

Ability to work collegially in a team environment.

Customer service experience with a diverse clientele.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two to three years relevant library experience.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities:
Staff public service desks at Baker-Berry Library, performing various patron related duties. Responds to a variety of in-person, telephone, and email information requests and refers questions to librarians as appropriate. Serves as a staff member responsible for Baker-Berry Library on assigned weekends, evenings, intersessions, and holidays. Monitors building security and contacts Safety and Security should problems arise. (50%)

Provides support for other areas of Access Services and the library, including work on assigned projects. (50%)
