Overview:

What Youll Be Doing

Cadmus is seeking a highly motivated entry-level research analyst to provide program support on underground injection control, groundwater protection, and environmental policy development. The successful candidate will be a part of a coordinated effort to support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys Office of Water on technical issues related to subsurface injection operations such as carbon geologic sequestration, enhanced oil recovery, and deep well injection of hazardous and nonhazardous wastes.

Responsibilities:
  • Review information related to geologic settings, geologic site characterization, formation petrophysical properties, injection wells, and other aspects of the siting and operation of proposed subsurface injection projects.
  • Conduct background research and literature reviews of subsurface processes and/or site-specific geologic investigations.
  • Research and write high-quality deliverables for clients.
  • Apply quantitative problem-solving skills for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Cadmus project staff.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, or in a team, as needed.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, earth science, environmental science/engineering with a focus on physical geology, hydrology/hydrogeology, or related disciplines is required. Coursework in subsurface hydrology/hydrogeology, statistics, GIS, structural geology, or petroleum geology is ideal.
  • Understanding of one or more of the following areas: structural geology and stratigraphy, subsurface flow and transport, and subsurface systems with multi-scale/multi-phase physics.
  • Fluency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $52,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
