The movement to end poverty is growing, and A Wider Circle is seeking hardy and dedicated individuals to serve as the voice and muscle behind the movement.
Feel what it truly means to serve those who need our help the most. As a Neighbor-to-Neighbor Donations Coordinator, you will drive trucks throughout the region to pick up donations of furniture household items and redistribute these items to individuals and families in poverty visiting A Wider Circles Center for Community Service.
This is a position for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to articulate the issues surrounding our work and mission with donors and clients. In addition to reliability, punctuality, and a high level of professionalism, successful candidates will have a passion for and commitment to the movement to end poverty.
This individual hired for this position would work on-site at our Silver Spring center. We are taking several safety precautions at the center to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including enforcing social distancing and mask-wearing and allowing only one person to occupy an office at one time.
The full-time schedule for this position is four days per week, including one weekend day. Applicants seeking part-time work are also welcome to apply.
**Responsibilities**
* Drive or serve as a passenger to pick up furniture and other items from families across the region items that will be distributed to individuals and families living in poverty.
* Receive donations at our Center for Community Service, unloading vehicles, and interacting with donors.
* Assist in sorting and organizing our donations, and maintaining areas of our 35,000 square-foot property.
* Load clients vehicles with furniture items with care and attention to safety.
* Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
**Qualifications**
* Capable of lifting 100 pounds.
* One to two years work experience.
* At least one year working in a direct service or customer service setting preferred.
* Experience working with individuals and families living in poverty is a plus, but not required (this can include volunteer experience).
Promotion Opportunity:
* Ability to obtain a DOT medical clearance to drive a 17 box truck; experience preferred but not required.
