Welding and Fabrication Specialist


Job Details

In this role, you will work closely with our customers to understand their needs and recommend the right products and solutions. You'll also have the opportunity to learn about our innovative welding processes and how they can help our customers improve their efficiency and productivity.

Work as both a key member of sales teams and independently to identify and demonstrate value added solutions for current and prospective welding and fabrication customers in West Virginia and eastern Kentucky. As a part of the Airgas local and national network of welding & advanced fabrication experts you will utilize the Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology to identify customer needs, develop and align on useful solutions, and work with the customer and Airgas local teams to deliver added value to our customers and grow Airgas sales in the welding and fabrication market.

  • Must possess a strong interest in welding processes and applications.
  • Must posses basic knowledge and understanding of welding processes and technology and a desire to continually develop skills, technical understanding, and knowledge base of Airgas value added offers to the welding & fabrication industry. .
  • Must have a minimum of 4 to 5 years of welding experience or supply to the welding and fabrication industry
  • Must be able to apply mathematical formulas that quantify the costs associated with customer processes so that analysis and comparisons may be created.
  • Requires a minimum Associate degree in Welding, Military Weld training or Bachelor s degree (Engineering), or equivalent combination of education and experience. An established track record of high level technical sales results may be considered in combination with or in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Previous experience in technical sales or direct sales to the welding and fabrication industry is preferred
  • Possession of AWS Certified Welding Sales Representative or similar welder certifications is preferred.
  • Experience in Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma implementation in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Must be self-motivated and results and action-oriented.
  • Must have good communication skills and confidence to interact at all levels of the customer and Airgas organization.
  • Must be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft and Google office products.
